Tech Savvy? Then over 40s Need Your Help.

No, not because we’re too stupid or old to work computers (I’m so over this ridiculous stereotype of older people being tech illiterate), but precisely because we ARE tech savvy.

How many times did you jump on your phone, ipad or laptop today? I’m guessing too many to count. Yep, me too. And it’s not always a bad thing, they can be really helpful. As highlighted in this article those of us over 40 are used to planning and running our lives using technology. We are smart phone queens and have plenty of apps to help us in every area of our life.

Except one.

Yep, menopause apps are still basically non-existent and that means there is a HUGE gap in the market for tech-savvy mid-lifers.

As Reenita Das saysin her article ‘By 2025, there will be over 1 billion women experiencing menopause in the world, which will be 12% of the entire world population of 8 billion.’

That’s a LOT of women who could do with more support and who are used to turning to technology to get it. We already know how to track and manage our cycles and fertility through our phones, so why not manage our menopause symptoms too?

Tech Savvy? Then Over 40s need your help

From insomnia to lack of motivation, weight gain and anxiety, menopause can throw up a whole host of symptoms that are difficult to manage. Lifestyle changes have been shown to make a difference in many of these symptoms and apps can be a great way to help women make these shifts.

How about an app purely devoted to ‘yoga for menopause’ or ‘meditations to ease menopause mood swings’. What would you like to see? I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this market takes off soon with women over 40 leading the way.
