4 Super Fit Women Over 40 Who'll Inspire You To Get Moving!

We all know that moving more is good for us.  AND we all know that it's one of the biggest influences on how well we age.  And yet...most of us struggle to get off the sofa.

Like a lot of women I spend a large chunk of my day sitting in front of a computer and, despite the daily dog walk and stroll up to school and back, with my evenings often spent curled up on the sofa it would be fair to say that I could definitely move more...a LOT more.

So, here are 4 Super Fit Women over 40 who I hope will inspire all of us to get up, get out, and get moving...

At 39 Natalie Jill found herself divorced, a single mum, heavier than she was happy with, and struggling financially.  Now 43 she is in the best shape of her life, has met the love of her life and runs a hugely successful fitness business.

At 98, Tao Porchon-Lynch is officially the oldest yoga teacher in the world.  She also started ballroom dancing competitively at the age of 87, having now won over 600 first-place awards.

I talk about 66 year-old Greta Pontarelli in my book, because she really does prove it's never too late to try something new.  Having taken up Pole Dancing at the age of 59, she is now a World Champion performer.

At 80 years old Ernestine Shepherd is the world's oldest competitive female bodybuilder - she didn't start doing any kind of exercise until she was 56 and took up weight training in her 70's.
