5 Journaling Prompts To Help You Live A Life You Love

I love to journal.  I do it most days, and always when I'm trying to get deeper clarity about something.  Some days I start with a question and some days I just turn up at the blank page and let the words pour out.  Both ways bring magic and understanding.  It is the most important practice in my life, more than meditation, more than yoga.  Journaling has helped me to heal, grieve, create, and explore, and it is at the heart of my writing life.

Journaling is not about perfection, or good grammar, or creating beautiful sentences (although you may surprise yourself with your internal eloquence at times), it is about being honest, being real, and not holding anything back.  It is the one place where you can show up fully as yourself, without fear of judgement, and the more you learn to do this on the page, the more willing you are to open up and let the truth flow out, the more you will find that you can do it in real life too, and that brings its own gifts and magic.

As we move through our forties we can feel such a strong pull to release things that aren't working: relationships; drama; work projects; physical and emotional clutter etc.  Journaling can be a powerful tool in assisting us in working out what we want to let go of and what we desire for our life.  Here are 5 journaling prompts to help you create a life you love after 40:

  1. If I knew I couldn't fail I would...

  2. The times I have been most happy in my life are...

  3. I secretly want to...

  4. I am ready to let go of...

  5. The one thing I would most regret if I didn't do it is...

Happy journaling lovely,
